America’s world role: decided in the Republican primary?

This report looks at the expanding Republican presidential primary field and the internal divisions in foreign, trade and immigration policy – even between candidates considered ‘populist’; Donald Trump might be getting out-headlined on ‘anti-woke’ positions by the (expected to run) Ron DeSantis, but does he have a better understanding of how Republican grassroots want American sovereignty to be applied? Elsewhere, can those who champion the interventionist and neoliberal ‘foreign policy consensus’ (supported by Democrats but less so by the Trump-era GOP) find a way back to relevance?
