2020s Military R&D: Innovation Accelerates Again

This report looks at an area that has made a disproportionate contribution to the everyday technology we use and encounter – military R&D. It argues that we should expect a noticeable rise in innovation efforts as a result of the 21^st century’s geopolitical rivalries, and provides a summary of how new technologies are disrupting much of what we once knew about the nature of war. We then profile selected upcoming technologies and domains and explain how they are likely to find promising applications or remain attractive investment venues outside of the military.
